How Event Organizers Launched Online Awards for Community Members

OpenExpo Europe, Spain’s largest professional event for technological innovation and open source, needed a way to run its annual Open Awards online to recognize standout open source projects and raise visibility for participants. To manage registration, public voting and the jury phase across eight categories, OpenExpo Europe used Easypromos, employing Easypromos Promotion Group and voting apps (with built‑in anti‑fraud controls) to collect entries and facilitate voting.

Easypromos provided easy category navigation, secure voting and simple result analysis; in the 2018 edition OpenExpo Europe received 115 candidates, 4,315 total votes, 32,335 page views and 12,527 visitors (the Most Innovative platform/project category alone had 23 candidates, 1,044 votes, 7,979 page views and 2,795 visitors). OpenExpo Europe reported the platform saved time and cost, was highly customizable and made launching and finalizing the awards straightforward with Easypromos.
