Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) UK, the second-largest container shipping company in the world, needed a better way to manage the growing volume of import paperwork and customer queries. With rising trade volumes, manual file searching was slowing response times, consuming storage space, and putting service levels and cash flow at risk. MSC chose Easy Software’s workflow and document archive solution to help automate its import department.

Easy Software implemented an electronic workflow, document capture, and archive system integrated with MSC’s existing Link platform, starting with two trade routes before rolling it out more widely. The result was faster customer query resolution, improved operational efficiency, better auditability and traceability, and less paper clutter. MSC says it has redeployed staff to customer-facing roles and is now growing at around 10% annually, with Easy Software now being expanded into the export department.
