Hansea, a group of bus companies and the largest independent private bus operator in Belgium, faced the challenge of modernizing its outdated AS400 applications on the IBM i platform. The group needed to improve the flow of accurate information, enhance user-friendliness for drivers and planners, establish a two-way communication platform, and enable better knowledge sharing across its companies. To achieve this, they partnered with the vendor Easi for application development and modernization services.

Easi modernized the existing planning system, BePlan, and developed a new application called BeConnect. This new solution provided drivers with mobile access to planning and route information, facilitating secure two-way communication. The applications, hosted on the Easi cloud, replaced difficult-to-use green screens with a user-friendly interface. The result was a significant improvement in operational excellence, data accuracy, and driver satisfaction, as employees could now access the latest information anytime, anywhere. Hansea reported that Easi's structured approach and transparent communication were key to the project's success.
