Aico, the UK market leader in domestic smoke, heat and carbon monoxide alarms, needed trade marketing communications support for the launch of a new range of CO alarms. Earl & Thompson Marketing was brought in to help educate plumbers and heating installers about the invisible, hard-to-sell nature of carbon monoxide and to communicate the product’s benefits clearly.

Earl & Thompson Marketing adapted its existing “Andy” character for the plumbing and heating market and created a full suite of in-store materials, including window stickers, explanatory leaflets, countertop POS dispensers, tear-off “handy hints” sheets, training materials, and specification guides. The campaign is running successfully in multiple plumbing and heating merchants and is being supported by trade press advertising, with Phase 2 now planned to drive further engagement.
