Woodford County Improves Flood Response Using EagleView Imagery

Woodford County, a county government in Kentucky, faced a major flood event that made it impossible to safely access and assess damage to numerous riverside homes. The Emergency Management Director needed to quickly compile data for state and federal relief but could not do so through ground surveys. They turned to their vendor, EagleView, for a solution using its aerial imagery service.

EagleView rapidly executed an aerial imagery flight over the affected area, providing the data less than two days after the river crested. Using EagleView's imagery, the county completed damage assessments for approximately 50 homes a full 24 hours before the areas were physically accessible. This speed enabled Woodford County to accelerate the delivery of aid to residents and provided irrefutable documentation for FEMA and insurance claims.
