Montrose County Discovering More Than $6.5 Million In Value

Montrose County, a large and topographically diverse region in Colorado, faced significant challenges in managing property assessments due to its vast size and the prevalence of omitted agricultural structures. The county assessor, Brad Hughes, turned to EagleView for support, utilizing its high-resolution orthogonal and oblique aerial imagery to gain a better understanding of the property landscape.

By implementing EagleView's imagery and the CONNECTExplorer platform, Montrose County appraisers could efficiently identify property changes and omissions. The EagleView solution enabled the discovery of over 516 omitted structures, including a misallocated transmission line, resulting in over $6.5 million in added property value and approximately $70,500 in additional annual tax revenue. The county also uses EagleView's Electronic Field Study software on tablets for field work in areas with poor connectivity, improving navigation and data access for appraisers.
