EagleView® Imagery Changes Perspective for Iowa County

Iowa County, Iowa, a government assessor's office with a small team of four employees, faced the challenge of manually assessing 18,000 parcels, many in remote agricultural areas with no building permit requirements. This traditional process was time-consuming, often inaccurate, and sometimes unsafe for staff conducting field visits. To improve efficiency and accuracy, the county selected vendor EagleView and its aerial imagery and ChangeFinder change detection technology.

EagleView's solution allowed the assessors to identify property changes by comparing new and old aerial imagery, eliminating countless physical inspections. This resulted in the discovery of nearly $2 million in previously unassessed property value between flights. The EagleView technology drastically reduced the time to review changes from seven or eight months to just three or four, improved assessment accuracy and staff safety, and enabled more efficient workflows for the small office.
