Benton County Uses EagleView Imagery to Achieve Firewise Communities/USA® Recognition

Benton County in Arkansas initially used EagleView's imagery for standard GIS tasks. Their challenge arose when they needed to conduct thousands of time-consuming, in-person property assessments to qualify for the National Fire Protection Association’s Firewise program and become eligible for federal wildfire safety grants.

The solution was to use EagleView's oblique imagery to perform the assessments virtually from the office instead of in the field. This allowed a single employee to evaluate a structure in just 20 seconds, completing the entire project in six weeks versus the years it would have taken otherwise. EagleView provided a more accurate assessment and enabled the county to achieve its Firewise designation.
