Z Energy, a major fuel and convenience retailer in New Zealand, faced a challenge with its reliance on third-party loyalty programs. This approach limited its direct customer relationships, control over user experience, and ability to cross-sell products. Partnering with Eagle Eye, Z Energy sought to create its own customer-centric loyalty program to overcome these limitations and drive growth.

Powered by Eagle Eye's real-time loyalty and promotions platform, the solution was the launch of the Z Rewards program via the Z App. This gave Z direct control, enabling personalized offers and a seamless experience for fuel and in-store purchases. The results were significant, with Eagle Eye helping Z Energy achieve a 26.6% in-store item scan rate and onboard over 360,000 app users, 31% of whom were new customers, while maintaining fuel volumes.
