A Eagle CMMS Case Study
Winona Foods, a family-owned cheese and food packaging company founded in Green Bay in 1995, faced significant operational challenges from an untracked maintenance program: no formal inventory system, spare parts stored ad hoc, no record of labor or downtime, and frequent machine outages that could halt production for days or weeks. Lacking quantifiable data, the two-person crew and management could not make informed decisions on maintenance, parts procurement, or staffing.
After a focused two-day training, the team implemented Proteus V CMMS, barcoded and organized parts, and established preventive and demand maintenance processes. The system enabled real-time tracking of downtime and work orders—about 10 daily—and reduced repair time to 15–20 minutes, supported hiring six additional staff, and produced annual savings of $12,000–$15,000 in repairs and inventory costs; Winona now uses the data for ongoing asset, staffing, and procurement decisions.
