A eAccountable Case Study
ABCmouse.com, a subscription-based children’s learning site, working with affiliate manager eAccountable, noticed irregular spikes in traffic and commissions from a cluster of non‑US (Malaysian) bloggers. The activity looked like forbidden tradename PPC bidding and generated a high share of manual cancellations, prompting warnings and a possible ban — the challenge was to determine whether these publishers were committing fraud or actually driving valuable customers.
Instead of removing them, eAccountable and ABCmouse audited every signup from the 19 bloggers and found the traffic was highly profitable: over 80% of those signups purchased a second month and cost‑per‑conversion was lower than ABCmouse’s own managed AdWords. The teams therefore tightened policies to ban exact‑match trademark bids while allowing tradename‑plus matches, improved monitoring and network settings, and preserved a lucrative affiliate source through greater oversight and clearer rules.
