A e2open Case Study
e2open, a Raleigh-based software leader with more than $3.4 billion in annual revenue and a customer base that includes over 90% of the Fortune 500, operates a vast partner ecosystem—10,000 certified partners, 20,000 employees, and a large open-source community. As the community hub for development, support, training, and consulting, the company relied on manual, regionally inconsistent spreadsheets to manage co-op and market development funds (MDF), which could not scale after rapid growth and acquisitions or support plans to expand into 100 more locations across 39 countries.
To solve this, e2open implemented connected applications—Collaborative Channel Planning and Rewards and Funds Management—integrated with Oracle financials to automate funding, claims, and payments and support funded activities like events, marketing, and training. The new system eliminated error-prone spreadsheets, reduced manual tasks, improved compliance and visibility into MDF spend, aligned partner activity with corporate goals, and enabled faster, more scalable incentive programs and better decision-making through collaborative planning.
