A e2open Case Study
Carrier Global Corporation, a global leader in climate and energy solutions, relies on timely inbound components to keep five U.S. manufacturing plants — and planned Mexican operations — running smoothly. Logistics planners working with e2open’s Logistics as a Service lacked detailed visibility into appointment schedules, which led to over-shipping, excess inventory, missed production windows and an inability to accept some needed components.
Carrier implemented dock appointment scheduling in its TMS across all LaaS-managed facilities (including third‑party deliveries) to view and confirm daily shipments. The result: much clearer JIT inbound planning, reduced detention/layovers and rescheduling fees, nearly a 45% drop in expedited shipments, improved on‑time performance and lower freight spend — with suppliers now scheduling correct volumes and Carrier able to recover supplier-related expedite costs.
