MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group - Customer Case Study

MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group, a European consumer‑electronics leader with over 900 stores and roughly 100,000 products, needed to evolve from a bricks‑and‑mortar retailer into a full multichannel company and to streamline multilingual, multicountry content management across 15 markets. To meet this challenge they implemented e-Spirit’s FirstSpirit CMS to integrate with their IBM WebSphere Commerce platform and existing systems and to centralize content creation and editorial workflows.

e-Spirit deployed FirstSpirit as a central, multitenant CMS integrated with IBM WebSphere Commerce and the Pixelboxx DAM, enabling centralized brand‑ and country‑specific content control while allowing local sites to manage market‑specific content. The implementation delivered significantly faster content creation and publishing, supported multilingual sites across 15 countries, and helped MediaMarktSaturn triple online sales for its eight stores in 2012 versus 2011, while creating operational synergies across the group.
