A e-Spirit Case Study
Hamburg Süd, a global transport and logistics company, needed a unified web strategy to support Internet, intranet, mobile and e-commerce channels and to give editors faster, more consistent ways to publish real‑time service and pricing information. Faced with two separate editorial systems and high operating and maintenance costs, Hamburg Süd selected e‑Spirit and its FirstSpirit content integration platform as a single, centralized CMS to streamline content management across regions and languages.
e‑Spirit implemented FirstSpirit to consolidate six global sites, the intranet and mobile channels into one platform with reusable content, standardized editorial processes and easy third‑party/e‑commerce integration. The deployment supports some 200 editors, ~400,000 monthly visitors and 3,500 intranet users, and delivered measurable benefits — about a 40% reduction in hardware operating costs and roughly 50% lower software maintenance costs — while speeding updates, ensuring consistent branding and reducing editorial IT burden.
