A e-Spirit Case Study

Preview of the AGRAVIS Case Study

Efficient multi-site management and customized portals for target groups through integration of FirstSpirit™ and IBM WebSphere

AGRAVIS, a large agricultural trade and service company operating roughly 70 websites and portals and serving about two million users a year, faced growing difficulty keeping content current and tailored for different target groups. With only two people previously responsible for publishing across many HTML pages, AGRAVIS needed a scalable, user-friendly solution—so they turned to e-Spirit and its FirstSpirit CMS to streamline multi-site management and support customized customer, partner, and employee portals.

e-Spirit’s FirstSpirit CMS was integrated with IBM WebSphere Portal (using a CIW connector) to provide a single content platform with centrally supplied templates, decentralized editing, and defined release workflows. The rollout enabled about 100 specialist authors to publish after a half day of training, removed routine IT bottlenecks, and cut time-to-market for new portals in half. As a result, AGRAVIS now manages one CMS for 70 sites, achieves significant editorial time savings, delivers more up-to-date personalized services, and has seen rising traffic and growth in online sales following the e-Spirit implementation.
