Transtech Engineers, Inc., a multi-disciplinary municipal consulting firm serving more than 50 public agencies, needed a way to keep building and plan review services moving when COVID-19 made in-person permit counter operations difficult or impossible. With many client cities still relying on paper plan sets and manual intake processes, Transtech needed a virtual alternative that could handle multiple jurisdictions and support both staff and applicants.

Transtech implemented e-PlanSoft’s e-PlanREVIEW®, goPost™ Public Portal, goPost portlets, and PDF Scout™ Inspector Tool to create a fully digital intake and review workflow. The solution enabled applicants to submit plans online through city-branded portals, automatically routed submissions to the right reviewers, and provided immediate file validation and status tracking. e-PlanSoft helped Transtech go live the first Monday after office closures, eliminate interruptions to service, and save several days per project through faster intake, fewer hard-copy transmittals, and reduced idle time in review queues.
