Sony Pictures Entertainment, an American entertainment company, needed a better way to manage global leave and absence across its workforce. Using Workday and ADP for core HR and payroll, Sony still relied on paper and spreadsheets for tracking absences, which made the process manual, slow, and inaccurate. The company also lacked clear visibility into planned and unplanned leave, creating workforce planning challenges. Sony Pictures turned to e-days for leave tracking and absence management.
e-days rapidly implemented its leave management platform to meet Sony’s tight go-live deadline and align with the new holiday calendar year. The solution automated absence management, synced approved leave to MS Outlook calendars, added return-to-work notifications and e-forms, and integrated with Workday to keep employee data current; it also supported payroll reporting. As a result, Sony Pictures replaced complex manual reporting with one-click accurate absence data, improved compliance with absence policies, and gained better visibility for planning. The deployment supported 802 e-days users.
