Silverton Aggregates, a large building and landscaping materials supplier in East Anglia, needed a better way to manage employee absence. Using a manual paper-and-spreadsheet process led to holiday overbooking, payroll issues, and a year-end rush for HR to answer questions about remaining leave. e-days, using its leave tracking and absence management solution, was brought in to replace the inefficient process.

e-days implemented a cloud-based self-service system that let employees book absences from anywhere, track allowances in real time, and prevent overbooking. The change made absence management more efficient, reduced workload for HR and Payroll, and gave staff greater control over their own leave. The company now has 137 e-days users, with benefits including entitlement calculation, holiday booking, reporting, team calendars, carry over, and overtime/TOIL management.
