Merck & Co Inc (MSD UK) was managing rebate validation with a complex Excel spreadsheet that had become close to the limits of the tool and was maintained manually by a single person. The process was slow, lacked accountability and control, and carried a high risk of failure, while handling around £22 million per month in rebate claims across 330 rebate deals.

e-bate implemented its calculation engine with a bespoke front end to create an automated end-to-end rebate validation platform integrated with SAP. The solution compared distributor claims against stored deals, flagged exceptions immediately, and added reporting and dashboards for real-time tracking; as a result, rebate validation became instant, manual intervention was greatly reduced, data accuracy and transparency improved, and the single-person dependency risk was removed.
