Westchester County - Customer Case Study
Westchester County’s IT organization, led by CIO John McCaffrey, was struggling to move aging Windows XP desktops into a virtual desktop environment without enough staff or in-house expertise. The county turned to Dyntek and Citrix to help modernize support for social services users handling homelessness, temporary assistance, and SNAP services.
Dyntek implemented a Citrix App Virtualization and VDI solution, complete with an assessment and the supporting storage, server, and virtualization infrastructure. The result was improved mobility for staff, who could now move between offices and access the same desktop anywhere, while Westchester County also extended desktop lifecycles and reduced replacement pressure, with plans to expand VDI county-wide.
