Mitchells & Butlers, one of the UK’s largest pub and restaurant operators with around 1,700 sites and 17 brands, faced growing pressure to deliver flawless digital experiences as customers increasingly use mobile ordering (their order-at-table service drives 20% higher spend). A complex, multi-vendor stack (Docker, Red Hat, Adobe Experience Manager) and a planned move to Microsoft Azure made it hard to get a single, intelligent view of application performance and user experience.
M&B selected Dynatrace and its AI engine Davis; a rapid proof-of-concept and a sub-two-week migration from New Relic delivered automated, real-time insights (including Real User Monitoring and Session Replay) that quickly identified root causes and enabled fast fixes. The outcome was 100% uptime over a peak holiday period—serving 225,000 meals and taking £12 million on Christmas Day—faster UX improvements, and progress toward automated CMDB processes and autonomous cloud operations.
