A Dynatrace Case Study
Fife Council, the third largest local authority in Scotland, serves over 360,000 residents with around 17,500 staff and relies on a mix of third‑party and legacy systems to deliver services from housing to social work. Limited observability left its IT team struggling to pinpoint causes of performance problems, slowing fixes and hampering collaboration with external service providers.
By deploying Dynatrace’s intelligent observability and AIOps, Fife achieved real‑time, precise root‑cause analysis—cutting mean time to insight from days to hours—improving service reliability for residents and enabling faster, more effective vendor collaboration. The platform also reduced operational overhead (managed by one person instead of up to ten) and is being expanded to auto‑instrument new tier‑one apps and integrate with ITSM for proactive incident management.
