GXO electrifies 94% of IKEA home delivery routes with Dynamon

Dynamon worked with Wincanton (now part of GXO), which was facing the challenge of electrifying IKEA's demanding large-item home delivery operation from its Harlow depot. GXO needed a credible plan to reduce Scope 3 emissions but required detailed evidence before making a major investment, specifically needing to know which vehicles and journeys could be electrified and what depot charging infrastructure was feasible given grid constraints.

Using its ZERO analysis software and Powerfleet telematics data, Dynamon provided a detailed electrification plan. The analysis found 94% of the operation was feasible with electric vehicles, allowing for ten of eleven vehicles to be transitioned while one diesel vehicle was retained for the hardest journeys. Dynamon also designed a right-sized 22 kW depot charging solution that operated within grid limits. This evidence-based plan directly informed GXO's multimillion-pound investment in electric vehicles, enabling a significant reduction in IKEA's Scope 3 emissions.
