DP World plans up to 100 electric HGV trials by 2029 with Dynamon

The customer, DP World, faced the challenge of introducing electric HGVs to UK hauliers through its EVITA trial. For these hauliers, operating an electric truck was a step into the unknown, raising new questions about range, payload, and charging that often led to the vehicles being used on undemanding routes, which hid their true potential. Dynamon was chosen as the software provider to address this.

Using its RouteZERO software, Dynamon provided a solution that allowed fleets to plan routes by modeling the specific truck, topography, weather, and required charging stops. This gave hauliers the confidence to assign more ambitious and longer routes to the electric HGVs during their 12-week trials. As a result, participants could properly evaluate the vehicles' performance on real-duty cycles, building a stronger business case for electrification and gathering evidence for future purchases.
