Why iCON Infrastructure chose Dynamo to streamline its global deal management efforts

iCON Infrastructure is a UK-based private equity firm with €2.5B AUM that grew from a seven-person team to over 40 across London, Canada and Germany. For six years the firm relied on a bespoke Microsoft Access database developed by its Head of Investor Relations, but the system could not support multiple open records, had no mobile access or relational links between investors, contacts and accounts, stored critical information in individuals’ heads, and raised data security concerns.

In 2018 iCON adopted Dynamo for its configurability, private-equity architecture and ability to link related entities. Dynamo now serves as the central repository for documents, investor records, meeting notes and deal pipeline data, with real-time updates and a mobile app that keeps the global team aligned. The change removed knowledge silos, improved security and collaboration, and gave the firm instant visibility into pipeline status and team activity.
