Children’s Hospital Modernizes its Research Business Intelligence Capabilities

Children’s Research Hospital, a pediatric treatment and research facility focused on catastrophic childhood diseases, needed to implement a genomic research system after its prior SGI SMP/Altix environment failed to deliver the required performance. The hospital turned to Dynamix Group for a replacement, with IBM storage and HPC-related services playing a key role in the proposed architecture.

Dynamix Group implemented a GPFS-based solution built on IBM DCS3700 storage, IBM 3650-M4 servers, Linux, Infiniband, and IBM HPC consulting services. The new platform enabled the hospital to support genomic and clinical research on pediatric cancers, replacing underperforming systems and improving productivity and efficiency by nearly 100%.
