Case Study: Hounisen achieves segmented B2B webshop and customer-specific pricing with Dynamicweb

A Dynamicweb Case Study

Preview of the Hounisen Case Study

B2B Webshop with Price Differentiation and Customer Purchase Solutions

Hounisen, a Danish B2B distributor of laboratory and medical equipment, needed a more agile ecommerce platform to serve two distinct customer segments—large hospitals and research institutions that order via procurement systems, and medical practices that order smaller quantities via the website—while supporting a complex, contract- and discount-driven pricing model tied to their ERP/pricing database. Hounisen selected Dynamicweb (using the Rapido framework, customized by partner Novicell) to deliver an integrated webshop and procurement integration that could handle these requirements.

Dynamicweb implemented a segmented webshop (visitor welcome pop-up), tailored search, punch-out integration for procurement systems and an integrated pricing engine capable of handling 10–20 million differentiated prices so customer-specific pricing displays as soon as users log in. The Dynamicweb solution streamlined ordering and re-ordering, reduced manual interactions, cut customer clicks and eliminated extra logins for large buyers, and has been positively received by customers, with Hounisen now looking to expand into Dynamicweb’s campaign and personalized email features.
