Trainline, a leading UK online retailer of rail tickets, faced challenges with website reliability and scalability due to their existing DNS provider's limitations. They needed more control over their DNS, particularly for CNAME management and data center failover, but were restricted by a six-hour TTL window. They turned to the vendor Dyn for a solution.
Dyn implemented its Managed DNS service, which provided Trainline with an easy-to-use platform and API that gave them total control. This allowed for the configuration of low TTLs required for effective failover. The migration of over 150 domains was smooth and quick. With Dyn, Trainline gained the ability to rapidly create and maintain subdomains, which was key to the successful and speedy launch of their new European website, thetrainline-europe.com.
