Wodtogether Integrates Bank Transfers to Make Gym Membership Payments a Breeze

WODTogether, a gym management platform for CrossFit and group fitness facilities, needed a lower-cost, easy-to-use payment option to collect recurring membership fees and one-off charges. Facing high percentage-based credit card fees that squeeze gym margins, WODTogether turned to Dwolla and its bank transfer technology to offer a simpler, cheaper alternative for members to pay.

Dwolla’s bank transfer solution — integrated via Dwolla’s PHP Library and tested in UAT — was implemented in about two weeks, enabling easy bank account onboarding, recurring billing, and payments for individual items. By using Dwolla (including Next Day Transfers that move funds in 1–2 business days), WODTogether reduced reliance on costly card processing, sped up settlement vs. traditional ACH, and helped gyms retain more revenue while ensuring reliable membership payments.
