GOAT Marketplace Payouts with ACH API

GOAT, the leading mobile marketplace for rare sneakers, faced growing friction and cost in its seller payout flow: sellers were forced to register with multiple third-party e-wallets, payouts could take up to seven days, and GOAT even used credit cards to accelerate payouts, eroding margins. GOAT needed a quick, scalable, non-branded ACH solution that would complement its existing buy-side processor and selected Dwolla (using Dwolla’s ACH/API payment flow) to solve the problem.

By integrating Dwolla’s API in ten days and using Dwolla webhooks for real-time status notifications, GOAT automated ACH bank transfers while preserving end-to-end branding. The Dwolla implementation cut cash-out support tickets by 80%, reduced time to resolution by 50%, shortened sellers’ time to liquidity from up to seven days to about two days, and increased bank transfer payouts by 50%.
