Astra began as a side project that evolved into a Me-to-Me financial savings app to help users act on banking data and automate transfers between their accounts. To move beyond reporting and actually automate ACH transfers, Astra needed a trusted payments partner that would integrate with Plaid and be manageable for a small development team—so they selected Dwolla for its API, Me‑to‑Me payment flow, dashboard and dedicated support channels.

Dwolla implemented a two‑phase integration (API foundation plus close collaboration with Dwolla’s integration team and dedicated Slack support) to enable automated ACH transfers and programmable savings actions. The result: Astra now has more than 200 registered users (50 verified), users visit over twice a week on average, have initiated 200+ transfers totaling more than $20,000, and are on track to save over $600 per user annually—outcomes Astra attributes directly to Dwolla’s reliable payments platform.
