Kidfund, a socially-powered savings app that helps parents, friends and family contribute to children’s long-term savings, faced the challenge of building a secure, frictionless onboarding and payments experience with only two developers. To overcome user hesitation about linking bank accounts and to simplify gift transfers, Kidfund turned to Dwolla and its payments API, including Dwolla’s Instant Account Verification (IAV).

Dwolla provided IAV and a developer-friendly payments API that enabled instant bank linking, one-click transfers, recurring payments and percentage-based donations. As a result, 94% of accounts with funding sources connected used Dwolla’s IAV, Kidfund completed the integration in five months with two developers, and transferred funds exceeded projections by 20% after adopting Dwolla.
