Turner Construction sought to improve the accuracy and efficiency of transferring digital building plans from BIM to the physical construction site, a process traditionally done manually and prone to errors. To bridge this gap, they partnered with vendor Dusty Robotics to pilot the FieldPrinter, an autonomous layout robot.

Dusty Robotics' solution autonomously printed detailed layout plans directly onto the floor slab, including walls, ceiling elements, and MEP hanger locations. This resulted in a layout process that was ten times faster than traditional methods on one project, with a 100% accuracy rate that eliminated re-work. The implementation by Dusty Robotics was cost neutral and significantly increased efficiency for Turner's project teams.
