Level 5 Inc., a metal framing and drywall contractor, faced the typical industry challenge of reactive trade coordination, where conflicts were only discovered after construction had begun, leading to costly rework. To solve this, they partnered with vendor Dusty Robotics to implement the Dusty FieldPrinter robotic layout solution, aiming to shift coordination much earlier in the project schedule.

The solution from Dusty Robotics transformed Level 5's layout process into a platform for early quality assurance. By requiring conflicts to be resolved in the digital model before printing, the Dusty system forced coordination months in advance. This resulted in four trades actively coordinating through Level 5's process, a six-month lookahead in layout, and the successful off-site prefabrication of 250 wall cassettes that all fit perfectly on site, eliminating field conflicts and saving significant time and money.
