The National Cyber-Forensics & Training Alliance (NCFTA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that facilitates real-time cyber threat information sharing between industry, law enforcement, and academia. In 2016 they prepared to launch an external-facing web application for partners to exchange sensitive threat data and needed stronger user authentication than passwords alone, while facing limited internal staffing and a large, diverse partner base to deploy a solution to.

NCFTA adopted Duo’s two-factor authentication to secure the application—an easy-to-deploy, flexible solution that administrators and developers could manage with minimal overhead. Duo’s responsiveness and support helped streamline rollout to partner accounts, increasing user confidence and the ability to validate logins; NCFTA reports the deployment was successful and recommends Duo for similar needs.
