KAYAK, the world’s leading travel search engine with more than 40 international sites and about 1.5 billion annual searches, needed to secure BYOD and remote access for its global workforce. The security team lacked visibility into employee-owned devices and was juggling five separate products (MDM, NAC, client certs, etc.), which was complex, costly and didn’t reliably check device health or differentiate corporate from personal machines.

KAYAK consolidated onto Duo Beyond to gain device visibility, enforce granular BYOD policies (e.g., admin access only from company laptops), and check OS/browser health before granting access. Using Duo Network Gateway and Trusted Access reduced VPN reliance and simplified remote login, improved security posture, lowered costs and maintenance, and gave the small IT team outsized efficiency—what the team called a “multiplier effect.”
