Leading Global Energy Company faced the planned closure of its UK office in 2009, jeopardising delivery of a near-complete European energy trading application (to generate quotations, secure supplies and manage customer relationships) for two European suppliers. To meet contractual obligations and complete development within a six-month window, the company engaged Dunstan Thomas to provide software development, transition and ongoing support services.
Dunstan Thomas managed a seamless transfer and continuation of development by mapping the environment, recruiting three original staff (two developers and a business analyst), moving the codebase to its Portsmouth headquarters and starting work on 1 June 2010; the next software revision was released within a month and Dunstan Thomas delivered four weeks of on-site training. As a result, Dunstan Thomas preserved customer continuity (including French and other European language support), kept the project on track for a mid-2011 go-live and ensured the contractual and warranty commitments were met.
