Dunstan Thomas Consulting training helps Waitrose to optimise use of Sparx Enterprise Architect

Waitrose’s IT Strategy & Architecture team needed to extend its use of Sparx Enterprise Architect from UML/development work to enterprise architecture modelling with ArchiMate, capture wider stakeholder views and add new metamodel elements such as “Capability” and enhanced “Application Interface.” Dunstan Thomas provided targeted Sparx Enterprise Architect training (EA Power User and Generating Documentation/Reporting) to help Waitrose unlock more value from its existing EA skills and software.

Dunstan Thomas delivered a bespoke two‑day course for five Waitrose analysts, plus follow‑up configuration and troubleshooting, covering UML Profiles, Tagged Values, Shape Scripts, MDG technologies and reporting/output customization. As a result, Waitrose rolled the configuration out to EA user communities, modelled a common data model of roughly 700 data objects, introduced custom elements and security tagging, improved reporting and impact‑assessment capabilities, and achieved these gains without purchasing additional licences.
