Discovery Group - Customer Case Study

Discovery Group, a major South African insurer, asked Dunstan Thomas (via its Digital Keystone team) to help define and deliver a new Adviser Portal for Discovery Invest. Workshops led by Dunstan Thomas crystallised the online services required and identified three core dashboards (administration, practice and review events). The key challenge was integrating data from legacy systems — more than 60 distinct APIs — to provide advisers with real‑time, visual access to client portfolios, back‑office tasks and review schedules.

Dunstan Thomas built the portal on its Adaptive Portal solution, delivering all three dashboards (completed by April 2018), applying a rebrand by mid‑June and going live on 25 June 2018. The vendor integrated 60+ APIs, enabled instant access to reports and portfolio views, and achieved seamless on‑boarding with very positive user feedback; the new portal has improved back‑office visibility, adviser productivity and client engagement while streamlining access to key documents and metrics.
