Eastern Alliance Insurance Group, a workers’ compensation carrier selling exclusively through more than 560 independent agents across the Mid‑Atlantic, Southeast, Midwest and Gulf South, faced slow, regionally disparate, largely manual underwriting and new‑business intake processes. To automate data input without disrupting agent workflows, Eastern Alliance partnered with Duck Creek Technologies (then Agencyport Software) to deploy Turnstile, Duck Creek’s ACORD PDF form‑to‑XML cloud conversion solution.
Duck Creek Technologies implemented Turnstile across Eastern’s regions, standardizing intake so all submissions flowed through the converter. The solution automated nearly 80% of a previously fully manual process, cut manual steps from 20 to 6 (a 70% effort reduction), reduced staff involvement from three people to one, sped turnaround by enabling simultaneous multi‑location processing, increased geographic data capture for risk assessment, and simplified training so underwriting technicians could focus on higher‑value work.
