Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) launched in 2013 with no IT infrastructure or staff and needed core policy and claims systems to support rapid product development while keeping IT costs low. To meet this challenge, BHSI selected Duck Creek Technologies’ cloud-based OnDemand platform to implement Duck Creek Policy and Claims, targeting fast, low-cost deployment with minimal internal IT involvement.

Using Duck Creek Technologies’ OnDemand, BHSI completed implementation ahead of schedule—Claims live in two months and Policy live in seven—and is now live with 60+ products across five lines of business in all 50 U.S. states and six countries. Duck Creek Technologies handles all software updates, freeing BHSI to focus on product innovation while achieving faster product launches, scalable operations, and reduced IT overhead.
