Raycast, the developer of the app Ray.so, faced a challenge with long and unattractive sharing URLs that were generated whenever a user created a code screenshot. These Base64-encoded URLs were difficult to share and provided no analytics to track how often they were clicked. Raycast turned to Dub to implement a link-sharing solution using Dub's Links product.
Dub's solution involved using its TypeScript SDK to programmatically create branded short links on the ray.so domain. This integration, which took minimal developer time to implement, provided Raycast with world-class analytics including click data, geolocation, and device information. The results were significant, with over 2,000 new short links and 25,000 clicks being generated per month, saving the team an estimated 40 hours of developer time.
