Motiva, owner and operator of North America’s largest refinery in Houston (processing 630,000 barrels per day and supplying more than 5,000 retail locations), faced mounting terminal data-collection challenges: logging into multiple supply partner portals, tracking emailed reports into individual repositories, manually reviewing and reconciling discrepancies, and entering data into spreadsheets. To address this, Motiva turned to DTN and its DTN TIMS solution.

DTN deployed DTN TIMS to collect, aggregate, classify and organize all terminal data into a customizable interface and secure cloud repository, normalizing flows into Motiva’s back-office systems, flagging outliers and automating aggregation. As a result, Motiva now largely automates the collection of 465 documents per day without individual employee labor, achieving faster revenue realization, higher employee productivity and satisfaction, and reduced back‑office costs, with DTN’s Customer Success team quickly resolving any issues.
