Case Study: Bryant Public Schools achieves improved athlete safety and significant time savings with DTN

A DTN Case Study

Preview of the Bryant Public Schools Case Study

Enhancing safety and time-savings with a single playbook

Bryant Public Schools, a 12‑school Arkansas district serving more than 9,300 students across 345 square miles, faced inconsistent and slow weather information for athletic events: coaches and trainers relied on different sources, leading to delayed or unnecessary cancellations and time-consuming texts/calls to 65–75 staff. The district selected DTN and its WeatherSentry® forecast and visualization solution paired with on‑site weather stations to provide a single, trusted source of hyperlocal weather data.

DTN implemented WeatherSentry’s hyperlocal forecasts, patented alerting (custom parameters, locations, and messages), WBGT heat monitoring, and 24/7 access to meteorologists, giving staff synchronized alerts and expert guidance. As a result, DTN reduced guesswork and sped decision-making—ensuring the same timely alert reaches all coaches and trainers simultaneously—improving safety (better heat‑illness prevention and severe‑weather responses) and strengthening operational planning across the district.
