Israeli Chemicals Ltd. (ICL) needed a valuable titanium sediment container transported from northern Sweden to Israel. DSV was brought in to handle the special transport after the usual road route was blocked by police refusal to allow the necessary closures for an almost 900 km move.

DSV’s special projects team arranged a creative multimodal solution: the load was lifted onto a barge near the factory, shipped by sea around the Swedish coast, transferred to a vessel for Israel, and then escorted inland by seven police vehicles to its final destination. The approach avoided placing the fragile titanium container on the ground or using iron chains, and it saved ICL €40,000.
