Dstillery partnered with a pharmaceutical brand facing the common healthcare advertising challenge: strict privacy rules (HIPAA, NAI/DAA) and the limits of contextual targeting made it difficult to reach patients effectively and affordably. The brand needed a compliant way to scale programmatic campaigns and reduce cost-per-acquisition (CPA).
Dstillery deployed Custom Patient Targeting, a privacy-safe, non–user-based solution that uses AI predictive modeling to bid on individual impressions from aggregated patient behavior. In Q1 2022 the approach delivered 3× more impressions than contextual targeting and reduced CPA by 84%, lowering it to $17.34.
