Stop & Shop, working with AMP Agency, partnered with Dstillery in Q3–Q4 2021 to test a new cookieless targeting approach and establish benchmarks for a cookieless world. The objective was to drive efficient site visits and cart checkouts via a programmatic display campaign while moving away from third‑party cookie–based tactics.
Dstillery applied its ID‑free Custom AI, built from Stop & Shop’s first‑party data, to find new prospects most likely to visit the retailer’s site and implemented the tactic across the client’s DSP display buys. The ID‑free solution outperformed third‑party behavioral targeting by 72% and contextual targeting by 12%; campaign performance led Stop & Shop to increase budget after the first quarter and continue ID‑free activations into 2022.
