A Druva Case Study
The Queensland Brain Institute (QBI) at the University of Queensland is a leading neuroscience research center where 400 researchers generate terabytes of images and video that underpin more than 1,200 published papers. Reliant on researchers to back up large local datasets and on legacy HSM infrastructure, QBI faced data availability, slow recovery times, and risk to collaboration, grant funding, and reputation if data could not be quickly located or restored.
QBI deployed Druva’s cloud-native SaaS platform (inSync and Phoenix) to automatically protect endpoints, virtual machines, servers, and databases with end-to-end encryption and a single pane of glass. The solution delivered 24x7 protection for 400 endpoints, enabled complete device restores in hours, allowed self-service restores, removed the need for additional hardware, and significantly improved researcher and IT productivity while safeguarding the validity of the institute’s research.
