Avea, a rapidly growing Turkish telecommunications operator with about 3,000 employees and 13.7 million customers, needed a more scalable, secure way to protect endpoint and customer data. Relying on local file servers, the company faced requirements for nationwide data availability, strict compliance with customer-data protection rules, full control over data locality, and reliable mobile access for employees.

Avea implemented Druva’s inSync Private Cloud as an on‑premise, centrally managed solution that combines cloud elasticity with enterprise security (256‑bit SSL in transit, 256‑bit AES at rest, AD controls), client‑side deduplication and WAN optimization. The four‑node, 8 TB deployment (200–850 users per node, scalable to 10,000) is run by a single administrator, delivered about 65% storage savings, caused no backup performance impact for users, and provided consistent, compliant, and highly available protection.
